At Art Therapy Guelph, we see women as invaluable and support their uniqueness at every stage of their lives. Through art therapy for adults, we believe every person has a soul’s calling that is unique to them, and it’s never too late for a late bloomer. We recognize that it is a rebellious act for women to have the courage to embrace self-compassion, self-love, and self-acceptance. We regularly encourage our clients to rebel.
At Art Therapy Guelph, we support women with a variety of mental health needs, such as anxiety, depression, stress, narcissistic abuse, trauma and grief. We value mental and spiritual health as crucial factors in dealing with these challenges. Mental health counselling through art serves as a critical platform through which women can empower themselves, confront individual or collective issues, and strengthen their inner power in a creative expressive way.
Our Motive
Our adult therapy sessions offer women a safe place to articulate and address various issues confidently. Through our use of talk therapy and Art therapy activities for adults we introduce methods for self-discovery, self-love, self-compassion, self-esteem, and effective stress management, which emphasizes mental health preservation, and personal growth.
We also utilize both one on one and group art therapy for healing layers of trauma and the wounded inner child you’ve been taking along with you. Our approach aims to equip women with the tools needed to lead balanced lives.
Fee Structure
Fees for our services vary depending on the type of therapy provided. One-on-one sessions are priced at $160.00 per session. Group session fees depend on the number of participants and the duration of each session. For detailed information on group rates, please reach out to us directly or refer to the specific group session details.
If you have coverage for a registered psychotherapist, you can submit your receipts for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider to determine if you are covered and the amount you are eligible for.
A Glimpse into Our Virtual/In-Person Sessions:
50 minutes are allotted to each session.
We will discuss your issues and address any of your questions during the first session.
In the first session, we will get to know one another, discuss your goals, and collaborate on which course of action would be most beneficial to you. Talk or art therapy.
- To engage in art therapy, all you need to do is be open to trying new things and not be an artist. It’s not about skill but free expression. So no need to worry about your ability or having to create a masterpiece.
- We will combine creative artmaking with a variety of psychotherapy approaches such as CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Trauma Counseling, and Internal Family systems
- Please note: that you are not required to produce a masterpiece. The art is just for free expression. However, we can begin by chatting if you prefer.
